Overall Being a student at the School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, offers a unique experience that blends flexibility with academic engagement. Unlike regular DU students, SOL students do not attend daily lectures but still have access to various university resources, events, and activities. Academic Life SOL follows an open learning model, where students primarily rely on self-study. However, to enhance learning, the university conducts Personal Contact Program (PCP) classes at select DU colleges, allowing students to interact with faculty members and peers. These sessions help clarify doubts and provide structured learning. Additionally, students have access to DU’s central library and digital learning platforms like e-books, online lectures, and the SOL app. Social & Extracurricular Activities While SOL students do not experience the traditional daily college life, they can still participate in DU’s cultural fests, debates, and student societies. Many DU colleges allow SOL students to be part of their NSS (National Service Scheme), NCC (National Cadet Corps), and other student clubs. This provides opportunities to build connections, enhance skills, and engage in extracurricular activities. Campus Facilities & Connectivity SOL students can visit Delhi University’s North and South Campuses for administrative work, document verification, and academic support. They can also access sports complexes, libraries, and select college cafeterias. The university provides online support through student portals, helplines, and email assistance.
